Anaja Hvastija Gaia (b.1995) lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her paintings exist between the planes of the physical and psychological. Mysterious landscapes are home to figures of feminine forms. Depicted in pastel colours, with their complexions soft and silent. Represented in these canvases are two domains of the self, the ideal and the actual, depicting the duality of identity and the balance between what is real versus what is imaginary.
Anaja’s work has been exhibited at ATM Gallery NYC, New York, NY; Tuesday to Friday, Valencia, Spain; and Long Story Short Paris, Paris, France.
