Born in 1986 in Wuhan, China, Sun currently lives and works in Beijing, China.
For Sun, she frequently finds herself haunted by the fear of impermanence, the dread of mortality and loss, and the struggle to accept her own imperfections and shortcomings. These are harsh realities beyond her control, yet she believes in the power of self-redemption. Through her art, she endeavours to immortalize fleeting moments and emotions, idealizing and manifesting them onto canvas as a means of reconciliation with her inner self.
